I want to buy stuff from stores. Ikea, CB2 etc. and rent them out as centerpieces and furniture for weddings that we plan in Ohio. Is this legal? I do have a business license in the state, I just didint know if I could do this

you will need to get a basic vendors license.

I think it’s a great idea

You know what would be a great idea too is to rent the items to people selling their houses and need to stage it. Then you can offer the items for sale to the potential buyers. People who see how the design look in THAT house tend to want that same image.

Sounds like an excellent add-on service, you’re providing a complete event! Here’s another idea, that may bring in side money that doesn’t cost you anything.

Can you meet with a few caterers in your area and agree to some kind of financial arrangement where they supply the food for an event you setup and split the proceeds or you supply the tables, chairs, etc for functions they give?

Not telling you your business, just love the solo entrepreneur spirit you show!

    Good luck
