This question is about floral deliveries. I deliver flowers for a living. One of my duties is dilivering flowers to funeral homes. I will say this, every funeral home I deliver too has a room for flower deliveries for funerals that also doubles as a place where they place the decease until cremation and/or services. They are usually nude and covered with a sheet over them. I have seen many other delivery men from other flower shops sneek a peek at the female deseased bodies. So here is the poll. Have you ever worried about how you will be judged by floral delivery men after you are deceased?

Hey I am a Junior in High school. I plan on attending college, and then starting my own business. I want to live in a small town (10,000 or less residents) and start a floral shop. In the store I plan on selling floral arrangements, potted plants, garden plants, starter fruit/ vegetable plants.
I am going to go to college and major in Business, but I can’t decide what horticulture or floriculture to major in. I was planning on horticulture services and ornamental horticulture. But I am not sure.
What major would you advise me to take?

Thank you that is true, but I plan on living in a small town where people plant crops, and gardens, I have found that in larger towns people do not really do such things. As for competing against Walmart or any other super store, most small town do not have a walmart in the actual town they have to drive to get there, and they don’t have much of a selection.

Question by : Am I underpaid as a floral delivery driver?
I deliver flowers for a floral shop and I’m beginning to wonder if I’m being paid justly. I get paid 6 dollars per delivery, although he requires me to be at work at a certain hour and remain until a certain hour. It seems to me I should be paid hourly + delivery. His reasoning that I’m not paid this way is that I’m hired as an independent contractor, and my pay isn’t based on hourly wages.

Is this a legal paying rate, or am I getting screwed here?

Yes you are being screwed! Floral drivers normally get paid by the hour not delivery. They normally average 9 to 12 dollars an hour.

i’m having a hard time getting hired right now at the places i’ve been applying to, and i just saw that there are going to be 70 temp positions at my local walmart for remodeling so i’m going to apply. i don’t really want to work there but it will only be for a few months so i’ll deal with it. however, i don’t have a clue as to what i should actually be applying for – there is nothing on there about the temp jobs, any idea of what would be the right one to put down? it said in the add that it includes moving shelving, stocking shelves, & various other duties – the official title that they used in the ad was ‘remodeling helper’.
