Is it acceptable for a personal chef to have tattoos?
Question by Anna R: Is it acceptable for a personal chef to have tattoos?
I’m starting a personal chef service and I’ve had a tattoo that I have wanted to get for years. I know that a lot of chefs have visible tattoos, and the one that I would like to get is floral (non offensive, and not completely visible). Do you think that this would prevent me from getting some jobs, or is it acceptable in this field of work?

I’d rather the chef have an invisible tattoo than the waitress have knuckles with love and hate tattooed on them!

Only the small minded would not appreciate it, and they probably wouldn’t know decent food either.
I don’t think it will be an issue, it would not bother me.
It would do more harm than good in your life.
Some people view it as a negative thing such as having a rough life in the past.

Well it doesn’t sound like it is completely visible and if you watch Bravo and other tv, a lot of the chefs are covered in the tattoos but are cooking gourmet food. I don’t see it as a problem. If I was hiring a personal chef the only things that would matter to me are taste of food and personal hygiene. Tattoos have nothing to do with it in my opinion.
